Wow, this is an updated version!
The 1891 date for printing is incorrect. The book originally went to the press in August 1891. But then, somewhere at the end of 1894 to 1895 (or shortly
...
after) another updated printing was made. This is not reflected in the copyright page, but this book is the updated version. The 1891 version only had 28 chapters, this one has 30. Chapter 27 in this version starts with: "The first edition of this book was finished and went to press in August, 1891. In this chapter in that edition, the author discussed the probabilities that The Great Conspiracy would succeed." The next few chapters in this version make reference to events that took place in 1892, 1893, and 1894 (October 1894 being the last). So that places the printing somewhere after Oct. 1894. So nice to find this version here, as it doesn't seem to exist anywhere else!
